3 Mobile Broadband Offering Free Access To The Times Online

3 Mobile The Times Online Free AccessMobile provider Three.co.uk have launched a new offer which will enable mobile broadband users to gain free access to The Times’ online news content.

Hidden from public access by an online paywall, customers who log onto 3′s mobile broadband service will now be able to stay up to date on the latest UK news and current affairs from both thetimes.co.uk and thesundaytimes.co.uk – both of which now feature a paid subscription model for news content.

Customers will receive 3 months free access to both the Times and Sunday Times websites, available to users on both ‘pay as you go’ (PAYG) and contract mobile broadband subscribers.

After the initial 3 months free period, PAYG customers will be able to still access the content provided that they top up their service every 30 days.

Meanwhile, people with a 3 Mobile contract will still be able to view the sites, provided they pay £2 per week for the privilege.

3′s Head of Customer Propositions for Mobile Broadband Alys Mathew commented:

“As more people consume news online, a partnership with The Times is a perfect offer for our mobile broadband customers.

“[Our] network has over 97 per cent population coverage for 3G services, so we’re happy to expand the reach of The Times online readership across the country to more mobile devices.”

3′s mobile broadband dongle price plans start at £7.50 per month for 1GB of usage, and the news subscription offer is available to new customers until March 31st 2011.
