HTC Flyer Tablet Specs Leaked?

HTC Flyer TabletHTC are expected to officially unveil a number of Android powered tablet devices during next months Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, with the HTC Flyer set to be their first offering.

Today, Norwegian website amobil.no have managed to get their hands on the leaked specification for the HTC Flyer, which if true, make the Flyer seem somewhat lacklustre when compared with the upcoming Motorola Xoom.

HTC FlyerAccording to the leak, the HTC Flyer tablet will include a 7-inch screen at 1024×600 (just like the Samsung Galaxy Tab), with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 (same processor as the HTC Desire HD smartphone).

  • HDMI and DLNA for media streaming
  • 5 mega-pixel rear camera with flash, 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera
  • GSM radios with 14.4 HSUPA/5.76HSDPA

It’s not currently known exactly what version of Android the HTC Flyer will be launched with, although the device is currently listed to include 2.3 it receives an upgrade to 3.0 Honeycomb in time for release remains to be seen.

HTC’s custom user interface HTC Sense (or  HTC Sensation as recent trademark filings would have us believe) has also been adapted to give the Flyer and other HTC Android tablets a more “desktop feel”.

We expect to learn more about HTC’s upcoming range of Android powered tablets at the Mobile World Congress event that takes place next month.
