Mobile Broadband Speeds On The Increase
The average mobile broadband download speed has grown to 936Kb/s according to a new study from Cisco Systems.
Based on research undertaken by Said Business School at Oxford University, the research discovered that the average mobile broadband download speed had risen by more than a third since 2009 to a new high of 936Kb/s.
The report also found that upload speeds have also seen a jump in speeds, rising by more than 100% over the same time period and now stand at 277Kb/s.
The Cisco report does however claim that the overall quality of mobile broadband technology still remains “far below” that of fixed-line home broadband services, with around 30 per cent of users able to access throughput speeds of more than 1.3Mb/s.
