Motorola To Ship 800,000 Xoom Tablets In Q1 2011

Motorola Xoom Q1 Shipment 800,000 UnitsMotorola are expecting to ship some 800,000 Xoom tablet units in the first quarter of 2011 alone, according to an article by Digitimes.

Motorola’s new Android tablet was showcased at the CES 2011 event earlier last week, with industry reviews already naming the Xoom one of the most powerful iPad rivals out there.

The Motorola Xoom device will be powered by Android 3.0 Honeycomb which has been designed specifically for tablet use.

In terms of hardware, the Xoom features a Tegra 2 dual-core processor from Nvidia, a 10.1-inch touch panel with a resolution of 1280 by 800 along with HDMI and USB ports.

The Xoom also features a 5-megapixel camera and an LED flash light.

The tablet also includes support for a 3G SIM card along with storage expansion via a microSD card slot.
